A long time ago, the Five Gods of Lais made a world called Roika. It had lots of life in its waters and lands. They made humans after making plants, animals, and other races. The gods didn't want humans to worship them, just to be friends. Roika was peaceful and balanced.

Note: The actual World/Universe from Flyff is called Lais. Madrigal/Roika are just the Flying Continents of the World.

Later, the gods left for another world. To keep Roika nice, they gave the Dwarves the power to change the land and the special gear. They also made a funny character, the Comedian-Clown, to make everyone happy. Even after the gods left, Roika stayed beautiful.

But the Comedian-Clown found it hard to make everyone happy. So it split into three: Ipuli, who was smart and creative, Bobor, who liked light and color, and Shelid, who was into shadows and desires. They worked together to make Roika happy.

One day, Shelid got greedy for power. He tricked Ipuli into thinking Bobor was bad. Ipuli made monsters to chase Bobor away, but Shelid controlled them and took over Roika. The monsters stole the gear from the Dwarves.

Bobor, now kicked out, asked humans for help. He taught them fighting, thinking, and caring, and how to fly. From then on, humans fought to bring back peace to Roika, like the gods wanted.
