Upgrading Armor

Icon Name Min Max Description
Sunstone +0 +11 Used to upgrade weapons and armor pieces (+0 ~ +10).
SProtect +0 +10 Premium Item obtainable through the Cash Shop. Used prior to upgrading to prevent possible destruction of the weapon/armor piece.
Smelting +0 +7 Premium Item obtainable through the Cash Shop. Used prior to upgrading to increase chance of success by 10%.

Upgrading your equipment requires the use of Sunstones. Upgraded armor pieces provide more defense. Fashion pieces that are obtained from the Cash Shop; however, cannot be refined. The (+x) shown at the end of the upgraded equipment signifies the refinement value; with +0 (none shown) being the lowest and +10 being the highest (for general refinement).

Please note that this method is guaranteed not to fail for upgrading TO +3 or lower. Attempting to use this method on an item that is +3 or higher has a chance to fail, in which case the item may break.

  1. Double-click on a Sunstone.
  2. Click on the item you wish to upgrade.
  1. Speak to (Upgrade Specialist) BoBoChan in Flaris.
  2. Choose “Safe Upgrade” from his dropdown menu.
  3. Place the item you wish to upgrade into the item slot at the top of the upgrade window.
  4. Choose the target upgrade (+1 - +10)
  5. Place the desired amount of sunstones in the slots containing transparent images of sunstones. ONLY PLACE THE AMOUNT OF SUNSTONES THAT YOU HAVE SPROTECTS TO GO WITH.
  6. Place Scroll of SProtects in the slots next to the sunstones.
  7. (optional) Place a Scroll of Smelting next to the Scroll of SProtects to increase chance of success by 10%.
  8. Start Upgrading!

Upgrading past +3 has a chance of failure. The higher the upgrade, the lower the chance of success. Upon failure (starting from +3 onwards) your weapon/armor piece and the Sunstone used will be destroyed. You can avoid the destruction of equipment by using a Scroll of SProtect; a Premium Item which is available from the Cash Shop. They protect the equipment piece from destruction if the upgrading attempt fails, but they are consumed regardless of whether or not the upgrading succeeds.

Additional set bonuses are provided if a full armor set is refined to +3 or higher.

There will be a glowing visual effect surrounding a character with an armor set which has a refinement of +3 of higher equipped. The image below demonstrates how the armor glows look like; from +1 to +10.

How to obtain the glows shown above

  • Requires all four parts of the set to be upgraded to +3 or higher.(Helmet, Suit, Gauntlet and Boots must all be upgraded)
  • To achieve the +3 glow effect all parts must be upgraded to +3, to achieve the +4 glow effect all parts must be upgraded to +4 etc.
  • If the parts of the set have different upgrade states then the lowest upgrade will prevail.(eg. Helmet+9, Suit+9, Gauntlet+9, Boots+3 will give the +3 glow effect and NOT the +9 effect)
  • It does not matter if parts belong to different sets as long as it has been upgraded to +3 or higher.(eg. Misty Helmet+3, Merr Suit+3, Merr Gauntlet+3 and Merr Boots+3 will give the +3 glow effect.)
  • It is safe to upgrade up to +3, Sprotect should be used for upgrading past +3 as upgrading past +3 may result in failure.(Sprotects prevent the item from breaking if an upgrade fails. It DOES NOT prevent failure of the upgrade itself)
